LLACE Community Safety & Anti-Harassment Policy
The Lavender Library (LLACE) is a LGBTQ+ sanctuary built on mutual respect, dignity, and care. We are committed to providing an environment free from harassment and discrimination for all patrons, visitors, and volunteers.
The Library leadership views safety through a harm reduction lens. This means:
We believe people and can learn, change, and repair harm. Our goal is to stop harmful behavior, not to exclude people unnecessarily. However, the safety of the community and those harmed is our absolute priority.
We prioritize the needs and autonomy of those who experience harm. We trust and center the experiences of those reporting harassment.
We address the root causes of harm, such as power imbalances, systemic oppression, and unmet needs, while taking clear action to stop harmful behavior.
We provide clear, accessible pathways for reporting and resolution that do not re-traumatize or place undue burden on those who come forward.
This policy applies to all LLACE premises and LLACE-organized events.
